Dhamma Kañcana (meaning Gold of Dhamma) is the fifth Vipassana center in Thailand offering courses as taught by S.N. Goenka in Sayagyi U Ba Khin’s tradition. The first 10-day course began in November 2006. Spread over 22 acres in Sangklaburi, Kanchanaburi province—near the Myanmar border—it lies about 330 km from Bangkok. Nestled in the highlands near Sam-Yod Mountain at 228 meters altitude, the center is surrounded by Khao-Laem National Park, Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary, and Vachiralongkorn Dam.
